
About Joe
Joe was first elected in 2010 to serve as the Marion County Assessor. Joe started his assessing career with the Center Township Assessor's Office in 1990.
In addition to his responsibilities as assessor, Joe also serves as a Marion County Commissioner where he, along with other commissioners, are responsible for maintaining the Marion County Children's Guardian Homes and oversee County Owned Property. As commissioner he also appoints membre to the Capital Improvement Board, Health & Hospital Board, Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals, Metropolitan Development Commission, Ft. Benjamin Harrison Reuse Authority, Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library Board, Marion County Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority.
In 2003, Joe became the Chief Deputy in the Pike Township Assessor's Office, later serving in that same capacity in the Warren Township Assessor's Office. After Governor Daniels ordered the Reassessment of Marion County in 2007, Joe joined the Marion County Assessor's office as a Deputy Director of Reassessment. I n June 2009, Joe was named the Director of the Assessment Division for the Marion County Assessor.
A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Joe has attended IUPUI and has earned Level III assessor certification, and is an Indiana Real Estate Broker. He and his wife Jennifer have four children, Caitie, Jack, Meghan, and Molly.
